The Story Collector follows two timelines tied together by mystery and folklore. In 1910 in a quiet Irish village on the west coast, a young farm girl named Anna assists an American scholar, Harold Griffin‑Krauss, in translating fairy tales from Irish to English. As their partnership unfolds, Anna becomes embroiled in local myths and tensions that threaten both her community and her way of life.
A century later, New Yorker Sarah Harper impulsively flies to rural Ireland after seeing an article about protests to save a tree said to be connected with fairies. Settling in a cottage in Thornwood, she discovers Anna’s long‑lost diary hidden in a tree and becomes captivated by the parallel stories of grief, folklore, and healing.
